Day By Day - Greetje Kauffeld - And Let The Music Replay - The Remixes (Vinyl, LP)
Such as this one, the original 12" single of 'Take on me', released in - a year before the single was re-released for the third time and finally became a hit. It's 'Take on me', but not as you know it. I've always liked this version a little better, also because of the exclusive track 'Stop! Labels: A-haEightiesRemixes. Private dancer - Tina Turner. Although I was never much of a fan of Tina Turner's vocals, I have to admit that her voice was quite suitable for 'Private dancer'.
She sounds old and disillusioned enough to carry the lyric of the song, and the fact that she doesn't exactly have a pretty or smooth voice really is a plus here.
Labels: EightiesTina Turner. Our summer - All about Eve. Collectors items can be very frustrating to a collector, as sometimes you think you may never get hold of them. When I became interested in the band All about Eve, I quickly became aware of their early 'indie' releases. I finally found a copy during a visit to one of those record exchanges in London, and the price had dropped to an almost acceptable level.
I'm still very happy to have found this disc. We close our eyes - Go West. Go West's debut single was 'We close our eyes', a great rhythmic track that lends itself well to an extended remix. This 12" single does not disappoint: this six minute remix of the track delivers well in every aspect. Thankfully they were still as powerful as two decades earlier. Labels: EightiesGo westRemixes. Monday, 28 November Hey little girl - Icehouse. The UK single of 'Hey little girl' was already in my possession when I found this 12" single.
I wasn't too surprised, then, by the sleeve which was different from the European one. I was, however, quite surprised by the track listing of this disc, as it featured an extended remix of the title track and a remix of the earlier hit single 'Can't help myself'. A good deal, I felt, since I like both tracks. The design and painting of the sleeve was done by David Storey, who also did artwork for artists as diverse as Blondie, Elton John and The Specials.
Labels: EightiesIcehouseRemixes. Sunday, 27 November Atomic - Blondie. Blondie released 'Atomic' in February and as such it was their first single of the Eighties. The track was later included on 's rarities compilation 'Blonde and Beyond'. Labels: BlondieEighties. So excited - Janet Jackson. That is a very good addition, however the addition of the inarticulate ramblings of a rapper named Khia is a less fortunate choice.
Although 'So excited' was remixed by Junior Vasquez, Bimbo Jones and Eddie Baez, this 12" single features four slightly predictable versions of the song: an album version, a radio edit, an instrumental version and an acapella version, all drawn from the regular album mix. The radio edit is laughable because of its random removal of certain 'shocking' words. You can't listen to - lyric - certain words - blocked.
And what's so shocking about the word 'inside' anyway? Labels: Janet JacksonNoughtiesRemixes. Cloudbusting - Kate Bush. Kate Bush released 'Cloudbusting' in October as the second single from her fifth album 'Hounds of love'. The 12" single featured two B-side tracks and an extended remix of the title track, entitled the 'Organon Remix'. In 'Burning Bridge', a woman desperately pleads with her lover to step up his level of commitment to her.
Labels: EightiesKate BushRemixes. Stop for a minute - Sandra. It was a surprisingly strong track, it sounds a lot less dodgy than a lot of her early work. This 12" single features an interesting extended version of the track, as well as the A- and B-side of the 7" single. Labels: EightiesRemixesSandra. Tinseltown in the rain - The Blue Nile. The Blue Nile's 'A walk across the rooftops' was one of the most remarkable albums offeaturing seven beautifully crafted tracks.
It featured two singles: 'Stay' and 'Tinseltown in the rain'. The album version of the latter track appears on this 12" singles, as well as an instrumental version of another album track, 'Heatwave'. This 12" single is however most notable for the otherwise unreleased track 'Regret'. The track was later included on a rare compilation cd which I never found, but fortunately there's an mp3 floating around which I've included here for your listening pleasure.
After all, sometimes the crackles and pops of vinyl tend to distract the listener a bit. Labels: Blue Nile theEighties. Saturday, 26 November Escapade - Janet Jackson. Although I have two cd-singles of Janet Jackson's 'Escapade', each featuring three remixes of the track, I was surprised to find that four remixes on this 12" single don't appear on them.
Now some of the tracks were remixed or even replayed by top producers to bring them First ever worldwide re-release of the rare debut album by Brazilian singer and composer Reginaldo Bessa, recorded in Buenos Aires with Miki Lerman and ensemble. Enchanting and beautifully arranged vocal bossa LP originally released by CBS Argentina in tiny amounts only, comes in remastered version and stands out as the first bossa nova album recorded and produced in a foreign country The recordings of "Memphis Black" are soulful and pure.
Also, at only LP) words, it's not a long enough title and also leaves out a body. Adding the pilot's name would make it an even dozen words, and easy for anyone to find. Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? The bottom line is common usage.
Read Wikipedia:Naming conventions common names closely. What is the most likely title someone would look for when they want an article on this topic? Kingturtle talk10 June UTC [ ]. This plane crash was never named by the media, as far Day By Day - Greetje Kauffeld - And Let The Music Replay - The Remixes (Vinyl a I know. But it was named by a song. A note originally posted here by this user and deleted, and posted on my page, and which is really part of this discussion:.
The first time you tried to be high and mighty was plenty. Here's some light bedtime reading for you, Bugs. I don't disagree with you, Bugs, I'm just asking you and everyone else to keep a level head and stay on task. In fact, I've come around to the conclusion that since there is no better name available it seems the flight was not even properly registered, so there was nothing analogous to American Airlines Flightand since this name although ultimately derived from the Don McLean song has become the phrase in common parlance to refer to this event, I have decided to cast my vote to oppose the move.
Instead, I think the article should be improved by establishing the notability of the phrase. In searching through the literature and on the internet, this phrase keeps popping up, and I see some missed opportunities to establish in the article that this phrase, in itself, has notability in reliable literature and, in point of fact, is the common name for this event. Wilhelm meis talk12 June UTC [ ]. NOT about the plane crash? The cover of Newsweek used the expression "the day the music died" to describe the assassination of John LP) in McLean's song was already well known by that time, so it seems logical to conclude that the editors were knowingly making reference to it.
No doubt some digging would find other uses to describe Lennon's death. I am not arguing that the article be amended to include any material about 8 Decemberbut it might be worth mentioning as an aside.
The two events were probably the greatest tragedies in rock and roll history, and it is interesting that the phrase has not been cheapened or demeaned by commercial or over use.
Although an eyewitness to the memorial site on May 3,I have been described as an unreliable source. I have photographs of the memorial site and can verify that the memorial for Peterson has been removed as well as the crudely-made cross seen in the photograph at the top of the article.
Anyone else care to verify this so that the article can be corrected? Also, an artistic sculpture of Buddy Holly's glasses has been installed at the roadside parking area next to the cornfield. I have a photograph of that as well. Anyone know who made it? I'm thinking this page could benefit from a Cultural Impact section, as this is one of a few instances of death notable to public performers, and a flashbulb mechanism for chain reaction within media eg.
Though this is far from my qualifications to add to the article myself. Do we really need the detailed description of Holly's corpse? I don't see how it helps the article at all. Leoniceno talk29 March UTC [ ]. While I will not participate in an edit war, neither will I knowingly allow misinformation to pass unchallenged.
The facts are pretty much plain and simple: The plane in question, a Beechcraft Bonanza model B35 has only four seats. If someone asked Dion to join the flight, where was he to sit? On the wing? Please, if you are considering putting this apocryphal claim back into the article, do two things first: quote a reliable reference that meets WP:RS and tell us where poor Dion was going to sit.
I tried to follow the link for footnote 6 and got a Page Not Found error. OK, we have the story of a coin flip. After editing in the comma after "actually flipped the coin", we now have this:. Oversaw the coin LP) in some way?
